Tim Weller, Chief Executive Incisive Media Group

Tim Weller

Tim Weller is a successful entrepreneur and leader in the publishing industry.  He founded Incisive Media, one of the leading business information publishing and events businesses in the UK in 1994 and is Group Chief Executive.  He has successfully navigated the company through structural changes in the industry and the advent of digital technology by devising a new vision for his business and the industry as it evolved.

Tim started his career at VNU Business Publications in 1982 and left to join Centaur Communications in 1987, becoming a director of Centaur Publishing in 1989. In 1994, he became Managing Director of Reuters Publishing, and on leaving later that year, he founded the company to launch Investment Week. He oversaw six years of rapid growth before successfully floating Incisive Media in 2000.  In 2006 he led the £275m management buyout that took the company private again.

Tim was voted PPA Publisher of the Year in 1997 and 1998, and Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year – London in 2001.  In 2005, he received the publishing industry's top honour – the Marcus Morris Award.  He was Chairman of PPA Business and Professional from 2005 to 2008.

Outside publishing Tim has wide experience across the media and technology sector.  He was non-executive director and chairman of leading independent television producer, RDF Media (maker of internationally successful shows such as Wife Swap and Faking It amongst others) from 2005-2010 and Non-executive Chairman of Polestar from 2009-2011 leading its sale to Sun European Partners this year.  Tim was also a member of the Shadow Cabinet New Enterprise Council, which advised George Osborne on business and enterprise prior to the 2010 general election. He is currently chairman of E-Trader Group, the UK’s leading provider of full service solutions to market and sell surplus and returned assets on behalf of retailers and wholesalers.
